Omega Mix From

Last week I made a really nice batch of homemade granola bars, and boy did they turn out good! They were really chewy and filling and helped my mind to rest assured that I wasn't putting a bunch of junk in my mouth. I intended to take a couple to work with me every day, but unfortunately they only lasted a few days, which is a good thing too I guess.

Heres the recipe I used.

Note: I made a few substitutions with the seeds/nuts and also the wheat germ.

The whole reason I wanted to make granola bars was to use up of the rest of my fruit and fiber cereal which was almost getting to the stale point, so I ground up enough of it to replace the 3/4 cup wheat germ (and I didnt have any wheat germ on hand anyway.)

So that made me happy that I didnt throw out the rest of my cereal, and that I didnt have to shell out a few quid for a wheat germ run.

I substituted the 3/4 cup of sunflower seeds for 3/4 cup of Real Foods organic omega seed mix (the more omegas the better is my motto!).

I also considered substituting the 1 cup of crushed peanuts for 1 cup of "Real Foods" organic flaked almonds which I think would taste better, but in the end I opted for the peanuts.
