For a wider selection of Superfoods, such as chlorella and bee pollen, we have heard great things about Real Foods of Edinburgh if you live in the UK. They offer a great range of products there.

Anyway enough rambling from me.

Have a wonderful day.

Fried Breakfast VS Raw Breakfast

Traditional Cooked Breakfasts Vs Raw Breakfasts

Ahhh that sound of fried eggs and hash browns sizzling in the frying pan, those sugar laden baked beans bubbling along nicely, and 4 slices of fried bread dripping away greasily in the wings....Who doesn't love a traditional cooked breakfast to start the day?

Well I'll tell you who, the Rawtarian.......strawberry and banana bowl anyone?

Banana and Strawberry Breakfast
Personally I've nothing against the odd fry up to kick start my day on a cold winter's morn, but my quest for healthy eating has led me away from taking long journeys on that greasy path.

There are a raft of other delicious alternative breakfast recipes listed here

A Fresh and Minty Salad Dressing

 Introducing Watermelon Jicama Mint Salad

I used to pour gallons of ranch and french dressing over my salads, I still love the taste of those and do indulge now and again if eating out. But let's be frank, they can often be fattening and they almost drown the flavour of the food you're eating.

Melon and Mint Salad Dressing

That's why it's always refreshing to find healthy alternatives like the Watermelon and Jicama Mint salad dressing I found over at Rawmazing.com

Here are the ingredients:

6 cups cubed watermelon
2 cups diced jicama
3/4 cup diced red onion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
Himalayan Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

I had never heard of Jicama before, I hear it's a form of Mexican yam bean.

If you're looking to freshen up a tired old salad, you can read more about this wonderful recipe here

Raw Diet Q&A

Musings of Rabbits And Bananas

The following questions and answers session was taken from a 1997 interview with Stephen Arlin and David Wolfe who were co-writers of one of the first raw food books on the market.
In the following interview the conversation falls upon the topic of red meat:

".....Could you imagine yourself nude, barefoot, with no tools or fire, trying to tackle a wild animal, kill it, and eat its guts out?! Eating animals is not in our biology. Think about it, if you gave a child a banana and a rabbit, it would eat the banana and play with the rabbit every time....."

Great point although not everyone will agree. In my opinion if you also gave most adults a banana and a rabbit, they would also eat the banana and play with the rabbit, or more likely fry up some banana fritters and entomb the rabbit in a hutch as those pesky droppings can get all over the house :)
